We’re welcoming our friends from Kaya in Orlando, Florida to the nation’s capital for one very special day of food, friendship and Filipino community.
The Kaya team is making the trip north to join us for a day-long culinary collaboration with Chef Paolo, Chef Julie and the Kayu & Morena team — bringing together two Filipino restaurants, two cities, and a shared love of food, culture and hospitality.
AT MORENA — DAYTIME
Join us at Morena for a special collaborative menu featuring dishes and flavors from both teams.
AT KAYU — DINNER
The celebration continues into the evening at Kayu with a special dinner menu created by the Kaya and Kayu teams — a one-night-only experience bringing together flavors, stories and techniques from Orlando and DC.
ABOUT KAYA
Located in Orlando, Florida, Kaya is a community-focused Filipino restaurant built around food, culture, hospitality, and bayanihan — the Filipino spirit of community and collective care.
Kaya is owned and operated by Chef Lordfer Lalicon and General Manager Jamilyn Salonga Bailey, alongside Lo’s wife Julie Anne and investor partners Johnny Tung and John Rife III — longtime friends and changemakers in the Central Florida food community.
Chef Lordfer brings more than 20 years of restaurant experience, including time at renowned restaurants such as Blue Hill at Stone Barns, Carbone, The Oak Room, and Maharlika.
In 2024, Kaya became Florida’s first MICHELIN Green Star recipient, recognized for its commitment to sustainable gastronomy. The restaurant works closely with local farmers and purveyors, prioritizes low- and zero-waste practices, and looks at sustainability through the lens of community, culture, and connection.
At the heart of Kaya is the belief that food is about more than what is on the plate — it’s about the people, the stories, and the communities that gather around it.
And we can’t wait to bring a little bit of Orlando to DC.
